Brrrrrr!!!

We hope you are all managing to keep warm during this cold snap we're having.  Don't forget if you are stuck at home because of the snow and have just remembered someone's birthday or other occasion, it's so easy to send them a gorgeous bunch of long lasting, quality fresh flowers.  Just call us on 01865 890695 for delivery anywhere in the Oxfordshire!

Fresh flowers may not warm the hands and feet, but they certainly do warm the heart!

Order Valentine's Day flowers early this year and claim some fantastic offers!

Ok, we have restrained ourselves for long enough!

In case you don't already know, Thursday 14th February is Valentine's Day! That's just 28 days away. Sounds like a long time but in floristry terms it's not very long at all, especially with the weeks flying by like they are!

So ... we have a little discount for those of you who are kind enough to order their Valentine's Day flowers early. As a thank you for helping us to work out just how many red roses we need to buy at auction ... gulp!

Here goes (drum roll!)

Any of our customers who place a Valentine's Day order before 8th February will receive a 20% discount on their flowers AND a 10% discount on a Valentine's Day meal at The Lamb Inn in Chalgrove. (Thanks so much to the Lamb for giving our customers this great offer!)

*If you don't live in Chalgrove, don't worry. We are hoping to announce further Valentine's Day offers from Oxfordshire traders in the weeks to come :o)

As well as this, the real early birds who order before 31st January will receive an extra gift of FREE Valentine's Day teddy and chocolates!

So, if you get your skates on and order quickly, you could end up with flowers, teddy, chocolates and a romantic meal for two, all at a discounted price! So what are you waiting for? Order today by calling 01865 890695 or 07512 212283 or online right here on our website.

We're excited, can you tell? :o)))

Happy New Year!  Love is in the Air!

Happy New Year to all of our customers and to anyone who is reading this blog and discovering our website for the first time.  As every florist knows, in just a few weeks. Valentine's Day will be upon us but, before we get into the heart shaped madness that all that brings, we thought we would share a bit of love of our own!

By which we mean that we would like to thank some of the lovely brides and grooms who we had the privilege of providing flowers for in 2012. A few of them have been kind enough to share a few photographs of their special day with us and, with their permission, we would in turn like to share them with you :o)

In our opinion, there's nothing like a few gorgeous wedding photos to make you feel all warm and fuzzy (and romantic!) on a cold January day!

Enjoy!  :o)

Christmas Floristry Made Easy!
Demonstration and Talk at Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre

A reminder that tomorrow, Thursday 6th December, between 2.30 and 3.30 p.m., The Flower Shop will be presenting a demonstration of floristry tips and techniques to help you get the most out of your fresh flowers this Christmas without spending a small fortune!

This will take place at The Oasis Restaurant inside Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre as part of their "Talks on Thursdays" series of events.

If you would like to learn how to make your own Christmas door wreath from scratch using foliages from the garden and hedgerows, this is the place to be.

We will also demonstrate how to make a simple candle table arrangement and show you lots of different ways that you can show off flowers around the home in really unusual and very cost effective ways, leaving you with more cash in your wallet for extra mulled wine and mince pies! :o)

On THURSDAY 6TH DECEMBER at 2 p.m., we will be presenting an hour long talk and demonstration with the theme of "Christmas Floristry Made Easy".  Hopefully we will be inspiring attendees with a few simple ideas that can help them to make the most of their Christmas flowers with the minimum of fuss and expense.  We will also be taking orders for both contemporary and the more traditional candle arrangements, garlands and door wreaths.  We can offer advice on the design of these and orders can be delivered gift wrapped to anywhere in Oxfordshire free of charge should this be required.  Click here to find out more!

Then on MONDAY 10TH DECEMBER, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., we will have a table at the Christmas Fayre inside Hampden House on the Monument Industrial Park, Chalgrove.  Again, we will be taking orders for all of our festively floral products which, as before, can be gift wrapped and delivered anywhere in Oxfordshire completely FREE of charge!  Click here for more details!

Forthcoming Christmas Events!

The Flower Shop are delighted to be returning to Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre from 6 til 9 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, 15th November this year to take part in their Christmas Evening.  We will be displaying our handmade Christmas door wreaths, Christmas candle arrangements and other festive products including our beautiful seasonal handtied bouquets in sliver and gold and our (nearly famous!) floral Christmas puddings! All of our items will be available to order on the night for Christmas delivery right up to Christmas Eve.  So whether you need Christmas flowers for your fireplace, mantlepiece, staircase, dinner table or any other part of your home, we will be happy to advise you.

We will also be taking orders for grave wreaths in holly or pine and have some of our Christmas cemetary pot arrangements on display, the perfect way to remember a sadly missed loved one at Christmas.  We are happy to collect and re-use your own cemetary pot and create a stunning fresh arrangement for it or provide you with a brand new one, the choice is yours.  Again, both our grave wreaths and our cemetary pots can be delivered at a date and address to suit you, just let us know when you order.

As well as an opportunity to come and see us, the Yarnton Nurseries Christmas Evening is an occasion for all the family. There will be the opportunity to enter a FREE prize draw, take advantage of some special offers, listen to live music, and visit some of the concessions that will be open on the night.

Already listed as ‘star’ attractions are a fashion show organised by Edinburgh Woollen Mill. For the children, face painting and huskies to admire and learn about and a number of other festive activities. As usual, the nursery will be collecting on behalf of ‘Children in Need’.

Also with a Christmas theme and as part of the ongoing series of "Talks on Thursdays" at Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre, The Flower Shop will be demonstrating Christmas floristry techniques between 2.30 and 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, 6th December.  This will cover the skills needed to create a variety of items, including door wreaths, table arrangements and garlands. We will also be happy to advise attendees and answer any floristry related questions. Do come along!
